Purpose Of The business Pitch, the most important thing your pitch flash needs to accomplish is to be clear. If it is not clear, and the person listening to the pitch does not understand it, then the whole point of pitching the business to them is lost. So clarity is the number one priority. That is why the pitch examples are food so short and to the point. If they are an investor, they might invite you to give them a longer pitch of about 5-10 minutes and ask for a business plan or a slide deck presentation.

Make your quick pitch, and either wait for a response in silence, or ask the person you are talking to about what they are working. The second mistake first-time entrepreneurs make is they take out their phone and try to show their website, app or product to the person they are talking. This puts the person you are talking to in an uncomfortable position because they are likely not interested enough to want to take your guided tour signalman full of babble. Dont rush to show your product, website or app. Wait for the person you are talking to to build up enough interest so that they ask you how they can see your product, and then show it to them. The third mistake people often make before doing their business presentation or even before discussing any part of their company is asking the person they are presenting to, to sign an nda (non disclosure agreement). In some cases an nda may be appropriate, but in most cases, the nda is a waste of time legal document that wastes both parties time and distract them from talking about the actual business they are there to discuss in the first place. The nda is often a negative distraction that in some cases can make you look like an amateur. Plus it prevents you from moving forward in your conversation and pitching your company.
